Copying Localization of Attributes

Why is this needed

If your project has multiple content languages, attributes need to be filled out for each language separately. The copy function allows you to automatically transfer attribute values from one language to another—without manual input.

This is convenient in cases when:

  • You have filled out attributes in one language and want to use the same values as a template for others.
  • You need to quickly "pre-fill" language versions before handing them over to a translator.
  • Numeric or technical values (SKUs, prices, articles) are stored in the attributes and are the same across all languages.

Where the function is available

The localization copy button is available on the Attributes tab when editing documents in the following modules:

  • Catalog — catalog items (products)
  • Pages — website pages
  • Blocks — content blocks
  • Users — users

How to copy attribute values

  1. Open the document for editing and go to the Attributes tab.
  2. Switch to the content language into which you want to copy the values (using the language switcher in the header).
  3. Click the copy icon next to the tab title — the Copy data between languages dialog will open.
  4. In the Source language field, select the source language whose values you want to copy.
  5. In the list below, check the target languages to which you want to copy the data.
  6. Click the Copy button and confirm the action.

After successful copying, the attribute values from the source language will appear in the selected target languages.

info

Copying overwrites existing attribute values in the target languages. If attributes were already filled in the target language, they will be replaced with data from the source.
