Uploading files and folders to OneEntry

This method lets you upload individual files as well as entire folders with their structure, which makes it easier to move an existing structure into OneEntry.

Step 1: Upload files and folders

  1. Drag the folders or files into the upload window.
  2. A table with the uploaded files and folders appears.

Step 2: Configure attributes

  1. Select the paths column.
  2. Set values for the fields:
    • Name: Required. Used to form the main product name.
    • Marker: Used for identification.
    • Type: Can be "file" or "image".
  3. If you select the "image" type, additional settings are available:
    • Enable image optimization.
    • Select a template for generating previews.

Step 3: Select a category

  1. To choose the category to upload products to, select the Choose category checkbox and choose the parent category from the Choose Parent list that appears.
  2. If you don't select a category, products are uploaded to the root directory.

Step 4: Complete the import

  1. Specify the number of records to import. You can change this value if needed.
  2. Click "Start import" to start the upload.
Note

For this type of upload, this step shows the warning Make sure that folders have unique names. Otherwise, the exact folder structure is not guaranteed.

You can't save the settings as a template when uploading from the file system. Instead of the Save as template checkbox, you see the message Saving templates is disabled because you are loading data from the file system or have moved datasets at step #2.

After the upload is complete:

  • Categories are created based on the folder structure.
  • Images automatically get previews.
  • The upload history is saved.

To delete the uploaded categories and files, click "Delete".
